T-1 Indoor Tennis Court

An indoor tennis court converted from a former warehouse faced severe summer overheating as rising temperatures and increasingly intense summers pushed ambient conditions to record levels.

Despite installing commercial air conditioning, indoor heat remained difficult to control, increasing the risk of heatstroke for players. Thermalytica applied tiisa® Superinsulation Paint across the entire roof and wall surfaces of the facility. Measurements taken before and after application showed that ceiling surface temperatures decreased by an average of 14.4°C (from approximately 68°C to 54°C), while temperatures at court level fell by 4.8°C. These results were achieved during a summer that was both hotter and sunnier than the previous year. Facility management also reported that players experienced conditions that felt 5–7°C cooler than the year before.

Challenge:

Due to progressing global warming, indoor temperatures have risen significantly during extreme summer heat, increasing the risk of heatstroke. A commercial air conditioning system was introduced this season, but its effectiveness has been limited.

Implementation:

TIISA® insulation paint was applied to the entire Ceiling of the tennis club to measure its effectiveness in suppressing indoor temperatures during summer and reducing power consumption.
